Should some of the child labor laws be done away with?

I'm sorry, did Newt say kids had to work 20 hours a week?

Yeah...so then a union employee can get high, get drunk, or basically sleep on the job and sue if anyone tries to fire them.

Sounds like that is something that a person with money would say.

Liberals have a tough time with the concept of personal responsibility...which is why, thanks to them, this nation is rearing generations of selfish, entitled brats who feel they deserve a trophy for just showing up and think "the rich" owe them a living.

Why does that not surprise me?

"9yo "in poor districts" cleaning toilets?"

There is so much more to janitorial work than cleaning toilets.

You mean now when you just sit back and collect unemployment checks for ever and ever at the expense of the people who are actually working hard?

What an offensive statement!

The responses on here have been absolutely mind boggling.

Work and a good work ethic are important, but it starts with doing well in school. That should be the focus of high school, IMO.

Chicken and egg confusion...few kids can do well in school, or even care about school, without a good work ethic, self-respect and discipline instilled in them by responsible parents and/or guardians...not to mention a prospect of a future.

Gingrich is a dope.

I disagree.
