Gas, heating oil, propane, electricity, it seems like all energy costs are going up. Then add in food costs going up too. Our beautiful government tells us there is no inflation, they have this wonderful invention called hedonic regression. The nice thing about hedonic regression (from the government point of view) is they can adjust inflation to just about anything they want with it. This has allowed a formal disconnect between higher commodity prices and government inflation calculation. Our elites no longer need be concerned that prices people pay for stuff is going up, instead they have the Fed and Treasury to assure them there is no inflation.

(As far as gasoline prices, I travel tennis shoe express. It's cheaper.)

The truck drivers that haul good to the stores you shop at don't have that option. Just because you can walk where you need to go doesn't mean that the rest of America does. People who live in rural areas can't exactly walk 10 miles to the store.

When the price of gasoline rises, the prices for goods rises.

(If more people walked to get stuff, they'd feel better. Look better and burn calories at the same time. Plus save the gasoline.)

You are absolutely right about that.

Nothing new around here - have to include the cost of those 'special winter additives' after all.

My last fill-up of heating oil was $2.54 per gal. (Total $454.02.) I've paid more in the past. Propane for our generator was $3.32 a gal.
