"We" wonder why people aren't spending money & there's slow job growth.

((You're building a straw man argument.))

I'm not building any argument. I am asking a simple question that I can't seem to get an answer to. Do you want the government deciding how much money the owner of a business is allowed to make, based on profits? Do you want the government deciding how much bonus the employees of your company are entitled to based on profits?

I must be missing something here. Where is this happening? What legislation has been put forth to do just that?

((We really need the Government to start a program for the roads, rails, airports and bridges.

You are. It's not happening...yet.

It seems many liberals have a huge problem with the income inequality in America. One poster mentioned that her husband is a business owner and he is fair with his employees but she felt that other businesses were unfair.

My question that is not getting answered is exactly what I asked in the previous post.

Do the liberals want the government dictating how much money a business owner is allowed to make based on profits? I didn't say it was happening. I asked if they WANT it to happen.

Oh, never mind then. I thought something was actually happening that I was missing or there was legislation put forth to do what you are "asking" about. Reminds me of the whole "creeping Sharia law" meme that's not happening either.

A lot of conservative sit around complaining about un-employment and welfare.

((The smart thing would be instead of handing over an un-employment check, hand them a job.))

I agree, but we tried that and it didn't work. Once the sidewalks were poured, those that were working were out of work once again, receiving their unemployment checks.

Do you really want to spend another trillion dollars to try that again?

I feel fortunate partly by design & some luck. DH splurges on his computer & video equipment but neither of us are extravagant.

DH's company has had two rounds of lay-offs but is stable now, making a profit & carries no debt. Those that were laid off have, for the most part, not been replaced here in the US. DH is a systems analyst & has programmers in China doing work for him. Which means either late evening or early morning conference calls.

I know it's rough out there. A couple of my neighbours were laid off.... One is back at work the other has been laid off twice within three years. The later has a high school aged boy & a college aged daughter. I feel so bad for him.
