Substandard school buildings at U.S. military bases

Hi folks. Thought you might be interested in this new investigation about the state of school buildings on base.
I went to DoD schools in the Far East from 1967 until high school graduation in 1973. The middle school was located at a former POW camp on Okinawa. The classrooms were Quonset huts and when the big rains hit (not typhoons, just the rainy season), we'd get soaked going from one "classroom" to the next. Air conditioning was nonexistent and the huts were heated with kerosene stand alone heaters.
I'll tell you something. The physical plant may have been substandard but the education was not.
