While I'm all for educating parents and kids with regards to healthy eating and obesity, I don't think it is up to this woman to decide if a kid appears to be too fat for candy.  From Today.com, she is going to hand out the following letter instead of candy on Halloween to children she deems weighs too much:

TODAY

Do you think it's up to her to judge how others parent their children?

She might have good intentions but her delivery is all wrong. I agree she should hand out something other than candy to emphasize her point.

She's out of line.

Imagine the hurt a child might feel at getting not a treat, but a nasty trick, for failing to meet that woman's standards.

If she believes that candy is a bad idea, she could give out coins, popcorn, apples, etc. instead of making Halloween an opportunity for sitting in judgement on children.  IMHO, she wouldn't need a pointy hat or broomstick to meet the definition of "witch" or perhaps something which rhymes with "witch"!
