Bush had a Republican dominated Congress from his inauguration until 2007. They gave him what he wanted, even some of the Democrats.

Oh, I'm sorry...WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

Your point?

Thought it was pretty clear.

Nowhere did I say that Democrats didn't use the threat of filibuster too.

Aah...so now the back-peddling begins.

The quote from my earlier post was directly from Bush's book. His words. Still nothing from Bush which indicates any aspect of fiscal caution.

Your last comment--based on what? Anything more than blind hate?

Your point? Nowhere did I say that Democrats didn't use the threat of filibuster too. Both sides have resorted to political posturing but Democrats don't control Congress to the point that they can put through new legislation unless there is Republican compromise. All your links prove that.

Newt's baggage would be his arrogance, hypocrisy and marital infidelities. God may have forgiven him....... but voters not so much. Heck, his own party doesn't entirely welcome him as a presidential candidate. http://www.freep.com/article/20111211/NEWS07/112110479/Newt-Gingrich-s-leadership-assailed-by-ex-House-colleagues

Dubya is the turd. Or should I call him Duped-ya.

When we look back someday at the catastrophe that was the Bush administration, we will think of many things: the tragedy of the Iraq war, the shame of Guantánamo and Abu Ghraib, the erosion of civil liberties. The damage done to the American economy does not make front-page headlines every day, but the repercussions will be felt beyond the lifetime of anyone reading this page.

I can hear an irritated counterthrust already.....http://www.vanityfair.com/politics/features/2007/12/bush200712

I cannot see that any of the current field of candidates has any better an answer. After the sorry spectacle of the Dubya era and the sycophantic behavior of Republicans who practically slobbered on his shoes, I trust them not all.

Obama came, he saw, he failed.

I did not present excuses. Facts are facts. And as such, the claim of Congressional Democratic "control" is laughable.

Bush's answer to 9/11. Do you remember it? "In the threat-filled months after 9/11, traveling on airplanes, visiting tourist destinations, and, yes, going shopping, were acts of defiance and patriotism". Direct quote. Yeah, he did encourage people to spend. Did he say diddly squat about affordability being a factor? If so, I'd be verrrrry interested in a cite and link.

Hindsight is always 20-20. Florida, Nevada, and California were all boom markets. If the bubble hadn't burst, those who didn't invest in "over-developed" areas, would have been belittled for being too cautious.

So this is why we should sign up for 4 more years of BO?

A family member also blames Bush (as well as the state she currently resides in) for her current problems. Like Dubya told her and her husband to buy a house they couldn't afford and move to a place that was over-developed.
