Election Day Check In
| Tue, 11-02-2010 - 10:53am |
Today, the race is on for well over 100 House, Senate and gubernatorial seats. We'd love for you to share your election results/reactions, polling experiences and any thoughts you have about election day.

Athena,
I saw no numbers when I signed in. (Not true, the poll watcher was keeping a tally of how many voted in the district.)
Anyway, that you voted is public record. Anyone who wants to go through the rolls can easily determine who voted or not. I think it was Meg Whitman who was running for governor in California and it was reported that she rarely votes...
Tom, did you put your NYS ballot "up" so anyone could read it, or were sleeves used in your polling place?
Greetings:
It was interesting and, like I said, I had never noticed it there before but that doesn't mean that it wasn't there before. It might be a double check to make sure people don't vote twice. Who knows. I'll keep you posted as to what I find out.
I just noticed something today while voting.
My voting experience in NYC went well, pretty smooth considering the drama last time with the new voting machines. I just don't like that it's now a two-step process! Fill in the ballot, then have it scanned... Even Mayor Bloomberg doesn't like it: http://www.examiner.com/government-in-new-york/bloomberg-not-a-fan-of-new-voting-machines
Hi Tom!
I believe we've had a discussion or two on some of the other boards a good while back, but I'm pretty sure this is first on the Politics board. :womanvery-happy:
I've never cast a vote by paper ballot myself; it's been voting machines here since I can remember. I'm not sure how I'd feel about switching. Thanks so much for sharing your experiences and thoughts!
Bren, Hi, I don’t think I ever replied to one of your posts.
