The problems ot rationing are in the implication. Dental and vision need to be included.

If we could get rid of or neutralize powerful and outrageously influential lobbies like the AMA, it might well be possible to eventually see a greater number of health care professionals.

Given the laws of supply and demand, a greater supply should result in lower prices and, possibly, better service.

But the AMA has NEVER been interested in relinquishing its power and near-monopoly on the rights to practice medicine. Won't be easy.

As regards dental implants, my DH just had surgery on Thursday to insert the bolts on which he will eventually have more long lasting (we hope) replacements for his three lost teeth. I don't know what you mean by "save the bone".

Neither does private pay. If all people have access to medical care, a few might wait. In America the average weekly income is $881 as of (2009) The only difficulty with that number is its after you add all the bill gates.

Here's some info on just that. Apparently, bone needs stimulation to keep from deteriorating which it doesn't get from dentures which is why dentures get loose and need to be refitted at times.
