Thinking of converting to Conservatism this year? The Heritage Foundation has compiled a list of books to read in 2012:

It is funny that when confronted with actual conservative stances on the issues, many conservatives try to disown them...I wonder if it's because they know deep down

Go figure!

...I wonder if it's because they know deep down...

My guess is that some conservatives disown the message of the conservative think tanks because they need to believe that they are independent thinkers. They want to believe that amidst all the "liberal leaning rhetoric" THEY are able to see the truth. The fact that the think tanks are creating their belief system is unsettling, at best. Easier to deny it than to confront reality.

I'm not sure what your point is. This is a debate site where all sorts of people can post their various points of views and arguments. That is not the purpose of The Heritage Foundation. In fact, I'll bet that not just anybody can post on the Heritage Foundation site. I wouldn't be able to and neither would you.

That's got the ring of truth to it.

The point is it's a blog trying to sell something and has about as much credibility as anything you post.

Please be sure to point that out to any conservatives using it as a source to back up their arguments.

Just out of curiousity, what, other than a conservative ideology, do you allege that the Heritage Foundation is trying to "sell"?
