Jon Stewart's rally to restore sanity in opposition to Glenn Beck's rally to restore "honor" a few weeks ago crushed Beck's rally.

Nor did I follow your post. I think calling a candidate "extremist" because you have a different pov than them is just wrong.

"independent Bloomberg news"???? Now that's rich!

As far as raising taxes.....Obama raised the cigarette tax. There are many people who make under $250K/year that smoke. Also, thanks to the HC bill.....Obama raised taxes on people who use tanning beds. So much for the ...."not one dime"....comment.

(we may have a different view as to who the extremists are as I think they are the folks Glenn Beck supports and you seem to think they are the type of folks Jon Stewart would vote for.)

Wow....how on earth would you know what I think? Talk about putting words in one's mouth.

I've listened to Glen Beck....he actually makes a lot of sense. He's crazy....I'll give you that....even manic. However, he does seem to uncover some of the "extremists" that Obama likes to load his cabinet with.....remember Van Jones?

I like John Stewart too. I think he's very funny. I just don't agree with him politically. I don't think either of these men are extremists.

When a President of the United States tells hispanic voters to "punish their enemies".....THAT'S extremist. Presidents shouldn't talk like that about fellow Americans. He is a rude, arrogant, self-centered, egocentric extremist that has no problem insulting, mocking, and belittling any and all who disagree with his policies....kind of like so many on these boards.

Think what you want of Bush....but at least he was respectful of the American people and didn't refer to them as "the enemy", or stupid, or uninformed, or so crippled by fear that they can't make the right decision in the voting booth.

This election will turn out like it will because of Obama, Reid, and Pelosi. Those three are who the American people want gone!

(It sells more ads, draws more viewers, but misinforms regularly.)

So true. So sad but true!

The purpose of the rally wasn't to sway voters and really not even to get out the vote, but rather to ask politicians and the media to stop fanning the flames of fear IN BOTH DIRECTIONS. So yes, I'd say all the media (except perhaps the Christian Science Monitor) are guilty of it. It sells more ads, draws more viewers, but misinforms regularly.

I understand and appreciate Stewart's humor. I think he's a riot.

But....I'll give it to ya....I just don't get Colbert at all.

It's really not surprising to see some sour grapes on this thread.

(While I admit both Olberman and Rachel can get carried away at times, they and their guests present a much more thoughtful and accurate analysis than anyone on FOX.)

Millions and millions of views of Fox would disagree with you.

There were tons of people at the rally and it was actually a bit scary trying to get out.
