Remove hope from a person or a community of people, and ugly things can happen. The right in this country fails to grasp this fundamental fact. Many on the right oppose evolutionary theory, yet they seem to wish to implement it as governing strategy - fend for yourselves, and if you fail or are incapable, too bad, so sad.
Hi Sylvia
Tearing down one person to prop up another always ends in failure.
A clear demonstration of the repercussions of creating an entitlement society dominated by a nanny government.
It also shows what ghettoizations does.
The left refuses to accept that those who refuse to contribute to society should also not benefit from it. The left thinks the ones group that should carry responsibilities are the wealthy.
The poor contribute by working low paying jobs that the rich provide (and benefit from), low paying enough that they don't even qualify to pay income tax. They do, however, continue to pay all the other taxes that are tacked onto things.
And there's nothing wrong with that. The rich wouldn't be rich or providing jobs if they didn't benefit from them, the people wouldn't work those jobs if they didn't pay a market value wage for that work.
"Resist, we much. We must, and we much. About that, be committed."
