(*I* don't find any of the holidays offensive. *I* think that people who find any of the holidays offensive need to find something better to do with their time.)

And yet you find the time to accuse ME of having a problem with Jews and the Menorah all the while bashing anyone who has a problem with people who find Christmas offensive. Go figure!

I know several liberal Christians from my church. Until this particular board thread, I never heard of anyone being forced to call a Christmas tree a "holiday tree." I don't know of anybody who is non-religious or non-Muslim singing the praises of Muslims who are killing Christians. I guess I live in a good neighborhood. Seriously, Doctorzip, I implore you to try to look at Christmas as a joyous Christian holiday to be enjoyed with your family and church and to not look at what others who are not members of your family and church are doing about your holiday. It seems to be making you angry and frustrated. Look to your family and church and you won't feel so frustrated that people might say things about Christmas that you don't like. Please try to find the goodness of Jesus during this holiday season. You and your children can move ahead even if you know that other people don't behave in the way you wish.

Again, maybe it is because you were not listening.

Effort to Rename Christmas Trees "Holiday Trees" Sparks Debate"

"A Christmas tree in Ames High School's cafeteria was taken down just two days after it was donated to the school for its winter dance. School officials say they removed the decoration after several phone calls stating it was "offensive."

Your projections of how I feel about Christmas couldn't be more wrong. I am not angry or frustrated. I enjoy celebrating Christmas and I enjoy my children learning about other religion's holidays. I am not offended by it whatsoever. I would NEVER ask somebody to take down a menorah because it was offensive. I would NEVER ask somebody to take down Islamic symbols because it was offensive. It just never ceases to amaze me how hypocritical some people are.....they say they are tolerant of ALL religions....but for some reason.....they never ever come to the "aid" of Christians. Instead....Christians are just told to "get over themselves"....or "deal with it"....or "we have a chip on our shoulders".

Actually, it doesn't surprise me all that much....the hypocrisy of so many of these boards is really, really sad.

Have a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS! ;)

I've not asked anyone to take down holiday decorations. What I have said is that some Christians look for opportunities to feel "oppressed" (for lack of a better word), when it is quite obvious that Christmas is highly recognized and celebrated in the USA. They need to stop looking to continue their war on Christmas, and enjoy the holiday with their families and churches. They've got it made here in the USofA. Enjoy!

Thanks for proving my point! I guess we Christians will just have to "take it on the chin" when others are intolerant of our religion and find the Christmas tree so offensive that they just cannot bear site of it and it must be removed. Because....after all....we have it "made here in the USA"....at least people are not trying to kill us........yet. I am waiting for all of those with the "coexist" bumper sticker to start sticking up for ALL religions....including Christianity. Oh.....the hypocrisy! LOL!

(Not a single one of us on this board would do that, either, which is why the continual claims of "our" hypocrisy is getting old and is completely offensive.)

But....you (general you) don't seem to care that it is happening. Instead, Christians just have to "take it" and "deal with it". I am sure that if the Muslim religion or Jewish religion was attacked in this way and if Christians found those religions SO offensive that they could not bear the site of any symbol of that religion.....all the liberals on these boards would be calling the Christians "haters", "anti-semites", and "Islamophobes" (like has been done many, many times before). However, when it actually HAPPENS to Christians.....the silence from the left is deafening. Not only the silence....but the attitude that Christians need to just deal with it and get the "chip off of their shoulders". THAT is the hypocrisy!

(What I have said is that some Christians look for opportunities to feel "oppressed")

Maybe that's because they ARE.

http://www.catholicculture.org/news/features/index.cfm?recnum=42308

"A US federal court has ruled that public schools in New York City can display Jewish and Islamic symbols, but not Christian symbols.

In a split decision, the 2nd Circuit court of Appeals said that the US Constitution prohibited setting up a Christmas crèche in New York schools, although a menorah was allowed for Hanukkah and a crescent-and-star were shown during Ramadan."

I can only imagine the outrage from the left if it was the Christian symbols that were allowed and the Jewish and Islamic symbols were banned.

Hypocrisy, hypocrisy, hypocrisy......at it's finest!

(I've not asked anyone to take down holiday decorations.)

So...because you have not personally asked anyone to take down offensive Christmas decorations....you are denying that it is happening at all?
