Where I do not always agree with the poster, I believe a point was trying to be made. It seems that we must be tolerant of all things (which is fine) except it seems lately that nobody is tolerant of Christmas.

For example, my daughter has a "holiday chorus concert" today. She is singing many Hanukkah songs but not a single Christmas song. Everything is a "winter" song or a "Holiday song".....they cannot have a Christmas tree in the classroom but can have a "Holiday" tree....however they do have a menorah. Why is that? It seems tolerance is constantly preached however we are reminded daily that saying " Merry Christmas" this time of year is offensive to many. Christians must constantly be reminded to be tolerant but nobody else seems to be tolerant of Christians.

I always wondered why they can call a "menorah" a menorah in school and not a "holiday candelabra".

I believe the point of "political correctness" has gone a bit overboard.

To me, the video was not saying "tolerance is not good"....but that in our schools we are teaching kids that it's okay to have "two mommies" and we must be tolerant...and we are. In school, we are taught all about Hanukkah and even have the children sing Hanukkah songs. However, we are not allowed to sing any song that even mentions the word "Christ" in it.

It seems that today in our schools we must be tolerant of any and all religions and lifestyles EXCEPT the Christian one.

I have to say I am a little irked that at my daughter's school they are singing 3 Hanukkah songs and 3 'Winter' songs and not a single Christmas song. Go figure!

(What are the "winter songs"?)

"Walking in a Winter Wonderland" "Jingle Bells", etc. Basically anything that does NOT mention Christmas or Jesus.

I want to know when the Menorah is going to start being referred to as the "Holiday Candelabra". You know....since we can't call a Christmas tree a Christmas tree anymore.....it's a "Holiday Tree"

Why is it okay to learn about Hanukkah and sing Hanukkah songs in a public school yet anything that has to do with Christmas is off limits?

I am not Jewish and I am not offended that my kids learn about Hanukkah or any other religious holiday from any religion. Why are others so offended to have their kids learn about Christmas? Where is the tolerance in that?
