Michelle Bachmann?

I happen to be a supporter of Michelle Bachmann's candidacy because I believe she, as a strict adherent to Constitutional limits on government power, would help get the size and scope of the federal government monster under control... which, in turn, would help us get out of the financial and economic mess we are in. I understand that some people have problems with her for various reasons, including religious and gay issues.

Those I really like aren't in the race and won't get in- Paul Ryan and Marco Rubio, Allen West.

I think that Bachmann relies a little much on being sensationalistic. I think she could reel that in and still make her points. The left in the media seizing on her sensationalistic tactics and uses them against her, just as they did Palin.

I like Ryan, Rubio, and West, too... but they are still too new! Give them time, and I'm sure they'll be making moves for high office eventually. Everyone seems to think that Rubio is a sure thing for the VP nominee next year.

It is certainly a sad situation when we can pick out one or only a few candidates that

"Resist, we much. We must, and we much. About that, be committed."

(( The Constitution is an obstacle to them that needs to be circumvented, usually through the courts.))

Did you happen to read the recent Time magazine article and see the front cover of " does the constitution matter" while showing the document being shredded?

the Constitution has been an obstacle to Dems ever since FDR.... but they have packed the courts with Statist justices that allow all of their unconstitutional moves to stand... one of the main reasons for the tea party to exist... we need to fight this! I think Bachmann as chief exec will help that effort enormously.

I trust the GOP to defend my rights better than the Dems - my right to keep more of the money I earn without giving it all to the govt as taxes (I currently pay about 40% of my income in taxes... my reward for being successful in my own business); as well as my rights to own the property I want to own; to have the healthcare plan of my choice; and to buy and own the products of my choice (anything from light bulbs to toilets to guns); in addition to all the little daily things I may want to do but the Nanny Staters won't let me do (like smoke wherever I want, drive a car without the confines of a seatbelt, and ride a bike without a damn stupid helmut)..... The Dems have so overregulated and overtaxed everything in this country, that it's hard to see any of my "rights" that are not affected because of some perceived "need" of somebody else...

As for gays, women who want abortions, or anyone else, let them vote in what they think are their own self-interests... I'll do the same.
