Obama Amnesty Begins: Halts Deportations for 300,000 Illegal Aliens; Offers ‘Work Permits’

What proclumation is this?

The Obama Administration today announced a virtual amnesty-by-decree for hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens, whose deportations will be “indefinitely delayed”. In addition, Obama finally announced a jobs program – but for ILLEGAL ALIENS, not citizens – as those 300,000 illegals will also become eligible for “work permits“.
This action represents an administrative end-run around Congress, which twice rejected the ‘DREAM Act’ in 2010. As disgraceful as is this usurpation of Congressional authority, this announcement is even worse than is being reported.
Our analysis reveals that – despite media focus of this action limited to so-called “Dreamer” illegal students, this new policy, coupled with the criteria established by the June 2011 “Morton Memos” which set up a joint “DHS and DOJ working group” could expand this “indefinite delay” of deportation to potentially MILLIONS of illegals – creating a new, massive amnesty entirely by fiat, bypassing Congress.

So it is spun...and my reply is an unabashed YAY!
It is up to congress to step up to this political plate and kick the illegals out.
yay?
Common sense. This isn't about allowing 300,000 in, as the title of the thread implies. It is about making best use of limited resources, focusing on removing those who do engage in criminal behaviour. There are a lot of illegals who behave themselves and who contribute to society, this leaves them alone - we don't have the resources to go after them (see right, and its advocacy for limited government spending. If they moan about this, break out the word 'hypocrites'.)
Hi thanks for clarifying/
Actually, what isn't sustainable is keeping people out. We are all, save for those who are Indian, either immigrants or descended from immigrants. Our country has prospered in part because of immigrants, in part because we made use of resources from their home countries that were basically taken for less than actual value, leaving them poor and us a wealthy nation. See Alcoa as one trail that leads in that direction.
We don't mind so much until we believe they are taking jobs from us... but they are not the problem. The problem is exporting jobs overseas by companies that have zero commitment to this country (yet with CEOs who love to talk a good game about lowering taxes and such.) Um, if you are an American company and you play that kind of game, holding it hostage so you catch a break for even *bigger* profits, no thank you.
IMO, we need to equalise things, make it hurt to export jobs. A company wishes to offshore, they pay an equivalency tax for each job lost, more than the actual savings they realise from the exporting.BTW, that isn't meant for new jobs created to serve markets overseas, only jobs moved overseas to serve this maket.
We see a lot of complaining about welfare (I saw clip of Fox stuff the other day referencing 'the mooch class'. The reall mooch class in this country are those who take jobs away, expecting Americans to buy their products with huge margins of products gleaned from offshoring jobs.
Obama's approvals are in the toilet so he's pandering and trolling for votes.
AZ Gov. Brewer Hammers Obama on Amnesty: Acts Like He's "Above the Law"

While few elected officials have denounced Barack Obama’s amnesty-by-decree for illegal aliens - even as of this morning - one in particular stepped up with a forceful response within hours of this outrageous edict. Arizona Governor Jan Brewer issued a statement denouncing the anti-Constitutional move (and had to re-issue it, after Facebook, ahem, "mistakenly" took it down)...
Then Brewer pointed out something the media has taken great pains to ignore this weekend: how just one month ago, Obama rejected such a move in front of the National Council of La Raza ("The Race"). In case you missed it, Obama first said "I swore an oath to uphold the laws on the books". And he went on from there...
Obama: "I know some people want me to bypass Congress and change the laws on my own... The idea of doing things on my own is very tempting. But that's not how -- our system works. That’s not how our democracy functions. That's not how our Constitution is written."
Then less than one month later, he went against that Constitution, and did exactly what he said could never be done - bypassing Congress and enacting an amnesty-by-fiat for untold numbers of illegal aliens.
Obama has no regard for the rule of law, and SWA will make sure all Americans know this truth before they cast their ballots in November 2012. As Brewer further said:
Amen to that, Governor. And Obama's "oath to uphold the laws on the books"? "Just words."
