"Are you familiar with historical US income tax rates?"
Really, his message has been proven wrong? Are you familiar with historical US income tax rates?
And sponges on society... these people pay other forms of taxes... now talk to me about profit. What is it? Excess over the cost to produce something.. the bigger the margin, the more those being paid are sponging off purchasers. How's that? Of course, no one on the right will ever say that, and quite frankly, neither do I wish to say it, but when I see goofy comments about mooches and sponges, we may as well counter that with something just as silly.
Much of it does not remain in the economy. The goverment pays that money to contractors for services, they then take their profits and invest it overseas where their investment dollars are welcomed instead of penalized as they are in America.
While they may not have actually carried out policy, various Tea Partyer, those lackeys of the Koch boys,
As opposed to the liberal, anti-American lackeys of "Spooky Dude" Soros.
Really? He caused the Great Recession? He caused the banks to have issues? He laid people off? Raised gas prices?
The Great Recession (is that what we're calling it these days?)...no, not specifically Obama's fault, but he certainly supported the Democrat policies that created it.

"what bothers me is some on the right now trying to claim Buffett is a socialist."
I don't ever wish to find out if Tea Party proposals are unconstitional, because that means they've been implemented. If the Tea Party gains power, American democracy will be at an end.
I've owned a business... what bothers me is some on the right now trying to claim Buffett is a socialist. That is a ridiculous claim, made simply because they don't like his message. I don't dislike someone making a profit. What I do dislike is the claims that half the country does not pay tax, which is silly and untrue - there are other taxes besides income tax. This country has obligations, and having hedge fund managers pay less in tax than those who make far less is not right. They can pay more and not miss a cent of it. Morevoer, money paid in taxes *does* remain in the economy, because the government spends it.
Those who make the most also gain the most from government, despite claims of the right to the contrary. They certainly benefit from the stability and the protections afforded. And you won't see a billionaire giving up his or her life in Iraq or Afghanistan.
Not in the context of others being here before, although there was certainly tribal movement. The Oglala for instance, moved westward into the Dakotas.
