For all your efforts, it still proves that the Republicans were willing to compromise on the tax revenues and

What are the odds Boehner could have gotten that "offer" through congress when it's difficult to get the votes for his current plan that is all cutting and no revenues?

From an article on CNN:

His plan -- roughly $3 trillion in cuts and raises to the debt ceiling in two stages -- is being attacked from the right by Republicans who don't think it goes far enough in reforming government spending. And he has been unable to secure enough support from Democrats by sweetening the bill with enough of what they want to offset the tea party conservatives he's sure to lose.

Edited to add: This is in response to preschoolslave who claimed we would have a deal by now if Obama hadn't wanted the additional revenues.

"No, it prove that the White House considered it. "

According to the article the White House AGREED to it, not just considered it.

Boehner admits that it's his own crazy tea party people who are holding things up, that they don't really care what happens to the country. Pretty sad for people who claim they are "patriots" and good for Boehner for speaking up. There's no way that Boehner could have gotten any of that group of Republicans to go for anything Obama is for. That was obvious to most of us for quite awhile, but now should be obvious to the rest of Americans.

Boehner and the House already passed legislation to end this fiasco, but the Democrats in the Senate are the ones who stopped it.

Yes, I agree that both parties are responsible for this mess but I believe that the Democrats have shown no desire to control it.
