Well, maybe but the point is that polling results, as Scott Simon noted: ".....rarely reflect how people really think."

Chuckled yesterday when I read about the poll in the Washington Post.

I'm an independent. Obama has been a bit of a disappointment for me too but the Republicans were responsible for so many years of disastrous policy.

Their most common tactics are fearmongering and lying about issues.

I'd consider a GOP candidate only if he or she was dramatically different in approach and practice from the rest of the party. Not much chance of that since the candidate would have to appeal to her/his "base" (in the most negative sense of the word).

Good thing Obama has been in for over 2 1/2 years fixing up everything. How's all the hope and change working for us? I'll answer for you, look at the polls. It stinks, and he is doing an awful job. And America knows it.
But, looks like you are quite happy with those numbers. Me too.

Gosh, the President has done a fair share of that lately.

Are you really? Well, that's a change. Maybe your "numbers" aren't the numbers I am seeing: http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-503544_162-20088388-503544.html

As for Obama fixing things, he hasn't been as successful as Bush was in breaking them. It is always easier to destroy than to build. Obama may be a disappointment but he's not the unmitigated disaster Bush was.

Why not give examples, rather than just characterizations? Make your case.

He IS a disaster, not seen since Carter. Most of us are just hanging on until 2013 when many of his damaging policies can be reversed and the money will begin flowing back into business.
Did you see that several big banks have begun charging to hold large sums of money for people. Money that could be invested if people weren't so worried about the state of the economy. Oh, and they are being charged because of new regulations imposed by the Frank Dodd Act.
