Well, he/she definitely got the country wrong. However, the cost is correct. I realize the importance of aid to other countries but right now, the President needs to focus on America. He is going to spend $200M that we just don't have.

By the President "jet-setting" off all over the world while millions and millions of Americans are out of work and their unemployment benefits are set to expire is just a really bad move, IMO.

Obama needs to show Americans that WE are number one to him.....not other countries.

In a perfect world, if we were tripping over bags of money, I would have no problem with it....but America is flat broke. It just shows how out-of-touch Obama is with the reality many Americans face.

This is bogus. Ndtv is a sensational news media. No one knows what is the cost of his trip because that is not released but it would not be different from other Presidential trips of the past. But whatever the cost, the possible economic returns for US far outweighs the cost of this trip. India is growing at rate of 8%, US growth at its best is about 2%. Think of the opportunities. US business probably salivate at the thought of doing business in India. It is crucial for US to build relationship with developing Asian countries.

I am originally from India and a US citizen. It is sad that partisan politics are having such a devastating effect on people that they criticize every move of the opposite party even if it is for the good of the country.

Mumbai is one of the growing markets for American goods. If we ignore international relations during a time of economic hardship, we end up behind the ball in getting our economy jump started. And considering how many American jobs end up in India...
