Good luck with getting people to move beyond ideology into critical thinking. I've seen too many instances of re-wording my posts, ignoring modifiers like "some", "may", "if", etc. If concepts are couched in nuanced terms, the nuance is ditched in favor of simplifications and absolutes. Open brain? Not bloody likely!
Ever heard the term "venture capital"? Some entrepreneurs use their own life savings or assets. Many do not. They gamble, but the funds aren't necessarily theirs.
As for risk taking and profit making, what we saw with the investment banks was risk taking carried to the extreme. Maybe risk taking for the sake of profit making is over-rated!
I see no reason whatsoever to stop being critical of corporations. When criticism stops, abuse starts.

It is the fault of legislatures for not outlawing takeover mania.
Reminds me of the Bell, California scandal. No one can rip off the people like government.
