Steele concedes to Barney Frank

I think Michael Steele, former Republican Party chairman, has given Barney Frank a nice retirement gift. He publically acknowledges that the Republicans controlled the House of Representatives during the time when Fannie and Freddie should have been regulated.

Sadly, I've already seen a lot of comments from people who mistakenly think that Steele and Gingrich were the ones with the facts.

Of small consequence...the reality is that Barney was claiming Fannie and Freddie were just fine and good investments moments before the collapse.

Weird, yet in 2008 when the Democrats were warned about the pending burst in the bubble and were urged to implement more stringent regulations by republicans on Fannie Mae and Freddi Mac..... well.....we all know what happened.

As far as I can tell from the blogs you posted, the only thing Steele concedes is that he got the dates wrong....not that Barney Frank was blameless in the housing crisis.

I keep wondering why Frank is really unexpectedly retiring:
