If you understood economics you'd know why the OP's approach only leads to greater poverty of the masses, and yes, your suggestion will destroy the country, just look at what socialism's done to it today.
You have to understand socialism is a faith-based form of economics. It's a religion and like any religious zealot, socialists will hold onto their beliefs no matter how much the facts prove them wrong.
