http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-17192520 Britain's NHS now recommends checks throughout life for patients who had gotten all-metal implants.
You know, a lot of people are making statements and grandiose plans for massive government institutions without any real understanding of the task. It's really ridiculous to design a solution to an extremely complicated issue just by casually thinking about it. When Intel wants to invent a new computer chip, does the CEO sketch it out himself one afternoon, or do they hire lots of expert engineers who spend years designing and testing?
Well, regarding health care, there are real experts who have made a scientific study of the issue and what can be done to improve it. They're called economists, and they have carefully studied history and developed understanding by building on a body of knowledge developed by some of the greatest thinkers of all time. Try reading people like Greg Mankiw, Thomas Sowell, Milton Friedman. When you fully understand their ideas in the context of the greater economic logic, see if you can refute or improve their ideas. Then study some more to learn if you are right or wrong. Repeat for several hundred/thousand hours. After that, you might be able to make a worthwhile contribution to this important national discussion. Otherwise, it's like a child being put in charge of design at Intel - he may have all the enthusiasm and passion in the world, but he has no business making those kind of decisions. And no, watching one Michael Moore documentary is not an education. You can't learn circuit design from a 2 hour movie either.
Oh, jeez. That's not much of a reason to surrender our liberties to a massive government program. No thanks.
"Resist, we much. We must, and we much. About that, be committed."
Friedman says we need to get rid of licensure of physicians and there is no place for gov't in health care......no need to read more to learn of his ideas.
Mankiw admits he's more of a libertarian than a communitarian....no need to rad more to learn of his ideas.
Sowell is afraid of all of our medical records going to D.C.; I am not.
I'm a conservative and have been a fan of Thomas Sowell for a number of years.

If you look at Table 2 in the CBO report, you will see that the CBO is projecting a net deceast of $48 billion compared to last year's estimate.
And let's not overlook another Trillion $$$ budget deficit dropped on our laps by the Obama train wreck. I wonder if he will ever go an entire year without adding a trillion or more $$$ to our debt? I doubt even Vegas would take that bet.
