Blocking while keeping friends on FB?

Hi everyone! I hope someone can help me out because I'm not sure how to handle this and if it's possible.

Long story short, I'm friends with someone on FB that I do know in real life, but not that close with (wife of my husband's friend). All she does is post about her side business (some sort of weight loss thing) with normal every day stuff thrown in maybe 2-3x a week.

I don't want to unfriend her, and I feel like if I block her completely I'll miss something that I should respond to, kwim? Anyone have any suggestions on how to possibly filter her stuff? I don't want to use that hide feature in FB because I feel like that's tattling on her (because personally I do think it's spammy but I'm not going to rat her out to FB for it).

Suggestions are definitely wanted and needed. *Ü*

I use the hide button or flag it for spam because that is what it really is. I don't appreciate someone requesting to be my friend just so they can sell me something. I think it is so rude to use your news feed to advertise stuff among your "friends".

Depending on your browser, there are addons out there for FB that can add filtering. Two I've used are FB Purity and Social Fixer.

I agree with imawhoot - I use FB Purity and love it. You can also use keywords to hide them from view (with the option of viewing them when you want). If they sell scentsy for example, you can use a keyword to hide anything mentioning scentsy. :)
