Well how many of you got Kindles or Nooks for Christmas? About 15 years ago I would have loved one, but now I have a hard time reading very much.

Hi, Janet. I've seen these things but it wouldn't work for me. I read a LOT, and I mean a LOT. But I do it mostly while I'm doing my nightly arthritis-relieving soak in my whirlpool, so with my luck with "gadgets", it'd end up in the water, lol. I order used books on Amazon all the time, you find them by the truckload at a penny apiece plus $3.99 shipping. Yep, the shipping sounds like a lot for what is often a paperback, but to buy the same paperback in a bookstore you're looking at $8 or more nowdays. I make up a list of books magazines recommend or just my favorite authors and go to Amazon. I have enough books right now to keep me reading for awhile! I have always felt bad for folks who never learned to read, I can't imagine that. I love to read!!!

I used to read all the time, it was nothing for me to start and finish a book quickly...then I got glasses and at first it was great.......but I now have something and I don't remember what they call it but it is like a dizziness when I read through my bifocals and do things like on a sunny day driving down the road with the sun coming through the trees? I remember when I was younger going to a dance and having the mirror ball spinning when they turned down the lights bothered but but thought that was norman....I was never able to go on the merry go round or even sometimes on a swing.....I am just weird.

But even reading on the monitor for very long will almost put me to sleep....lol I know a lot of it is getting old......or should I say most of it?...

There sure are a lot of people that bought readers....it sure beats having to have boxes of books around like I used to do.....we used to put them out at a garage sale for .10 each......most of the time people would come and buy the box.......they were a quick turn around....but then friends would trade too that was fun...

People don't want to pay squat for used books in a yard sale, but they know you're wanting to get rid of them.

I don't remember what the doctor called it but if I read for more than a few minutes I can get so tired or kind of dizzy. Last appointment my sight had gotten a little better......???
