Does anyone burn files to blu-ray?

I have a blu-ray burner but haven't installed it yet. Wondering if anyone has burned to blu-ray here. The discs are still a bit expensive (definitely not DVD priced) and I'm finding that while larger, they may not hold all of my files in one shot (to keep things organized, such as my digital scrapbooking files). Is there a high risk of discs failing like DVD/CDs had? I don't want to burn a disc only to have it useless since they  are expensive.

TIA!

I don't personally burn to blu ray but optical discs are clearly the way to go for long term storage. They last much longer than hard drives. They can last decades with proper storage and care. I have been reading about new discs being developed to handle the new 4K video format. These discs will be 100GB or more. Not sure if they are worth waiting for, maybe if you have very large amounts of data. Redundancy is always best I think , so maybe two copies of everything would be best.
