Will You Switch to Windows 8?

Will you be upgrading to Windows 8? I was pretty ticked off that Windows 8 was coming out not that long after I just got Windows 7, which wasn't that long after I got Windows Vista. I didn't really find anything new or better with Windows 7, and I was thinking I might just skip this version, but then I read it will only cost $40, so I guess I'll go for it.

Do you get every new version of software that comes out or stick with what you have as long as it's working?

I got Vista only because it came with the computer, and I upgraded to Windows 7 because I got sucked in to all the hype. I don't really see what Windows 8 has to offer for me, but I might also upgrade if it's only $40, just to be up-to-date. I bought MS Office 2010 last year only because I was able to get it with my daughter's student price. I doubt I'll upgrade that for a while.

I won't be getting Windows 8, first reason is that I am not going to use a computer that I have to reach up and smear the screen, that drives me crazy.

Windows 8 is mostly for mobile devices,  I think people like me are going to opt for regular Windows others who are for having everything with them all the time will like it. I don't know....

I have Windows 7 on this laptop and I hate it. I don't like having my isp email program....(outlook express) you will have to pry Vista and the last of the email programs on the computer from my cold dead hands....lol

After summer is over I will be back home with my Vista and a 23" screen.. I can't see anything wrong with Vista but nothing I have read about Windows 8 is that exciting, there is a reason that the program is so cheap..so go and read about it before you just jump in.

Whatever you do don't put your fingers on MY screen....lol

Don't upgrade because of the price, if it was a regular Windows it wouldn't be that cheap.......so please read about it before you buy......I love my Vista computer.......

I never had any problems with Vista, and my DH still has it on his computer. I would still be happy with XP! I don't find Windows 7 is much different, and the only thing (supposedly) better about Windows 8 that I can see is that it's geared to work across devices. I'll probably upgrade, going on the assumption that they only add features and improve the product. I know, I know what happens when you assume, lol!

Going on the assumption that they only add features and iprove the product.......

Remember Windows ME????     LOL

I don't need my computer and my cel phone to sync up to each other I don't have any gadgets that needs that....my Vista sees my cel phone already. I don't think it is so much an upgrade as it is something to play with.....didn't they say that 7 was going to be the only OS you would need......but if you get 8 how much longer before 9? And since it is so cheap......that tells me that there isn't much to it...

But then I am older so I just want what I have and like to work for a long time.....who knows when I change OS maybe it will be 12....lol....
