Take your kids to work day ...

Is anyone participating (in terms of bringing a child, not necessarily your child, or puting together something special)?

My workplace always go over board but I cannot stand children in general (never have and never will, and my work does not require any interaction with them).  Fortunately my boss is understanding enough to let me work from home that day.  ;-)

I work from home when I'm not traveling to research sites; so, I really have no experience with this. I don't have kids either. I don't mind them, but I wouldn't imagine a lot of work gets done with kids around the office.

I have never done it because I work in a small office and my kids would have been so bored.

I think either the kids have activities that HR seems to plan but they're not getting a good idea of what actually happens at the parents' workplace, or they see what actually happens at the workplace and likely are bored or uninterested. Not many workplaces strike me as naturally entertaining for kids.
