Survey: Soft skills matter for job seekers

"Prospects shouldn’t downplay their soft skills when writing resumes.
That’s the conclusion of a CareerBuilder survey that found 77 percent of employers believe soft skills — less tangible skills associated with personality, such as a positive attitude — are just as important as hard skills, the ones learned to perform a specific job function.
The national survey done by Harris Poll for CareerBuilder was based on interviews with 2,138 hiring managers and human resource professionals across industries and company sizes.
“When companies are assessing job candidates, they’re looking for the best of both worlds — someone who is not only proficient in a particular function, but also has the right personality,” said Rosemary Haefner, vice president of human resources at CareerBuilder."
How many, if any, soft skills do you have listed on your resume? Do you think it's hurting that you have them on there? The article goes on to discuss how to list them exactly (i.e., don't just list "dependable worker" but explain how you've proven that). I think I'll start reworking my resume to accommodate a few more soft skills since my hard skills are lacking.
