New job - should I re-consider?

I have been interviewing for jobs to change careers. I did receive an offer on one but then got an interview for another. I found out that I did not get the 2nd one (which I really wanted) so I went back to the first. My offer was contingent on a couple items including accepting/signing a contract. I had not received it yet and when I called the program director, he didn't know who I was. (Interviewed with someone else but called him as his name was on offer letter.) I not only had to explain who I was (background) but now he wants to interview me. Doesn't make sense why I would need to interview again if I have the job offer. Should I reconsider this job offer and keep looking? Any thoughts/advice?

Could you call the person who did interview you and offered you the job, and ask what's going on?

It doesn't sound like you were too thrilled with this job offer to begin with?

It boils down to how badly you want the job. If you want it, schedule the interview. I suggest calling him back to schedule a convenient time and while on the phone ask if he's spoken with the person who interviewed you. If so, ask what additional information you should come prepared with to the meeting. If they have not spoken that tells you a lot about the company. Either way ask about how the hiring process works to determine if this will be the final interview. Hope this helps.
