Hi,

I've been in IT for 4 years and I move to my family business for a year and I move out again to IT field, just for 3 months i feel that the job i'm doing is so bored and I feel like changhing job again. I went for interview and got an offer, the moment i saw the HR dept number on my cell phone I got very scared and I didn't answer the call. I return them a call the day after. I'm not sure why but I feel really scare to accept the job that might end up resigning again. I don't want to trouble the HR to keep on looking for people to fill up the post I leave behind. But i'm worried that i will get bored with the job or i feel the job does not suits me, then I will think of resigning again. I know I'm the problem, I don't know what I want to do or what job i really want. I always remind myself work is just work and we do it for living, i'm lucky enough to have a job on hand. But being a normal human, I listen to my feelings, I hate to go to work. I can't find passion in doing anything. I don't know what's wrong with myself and how to fix it. I'm thinking to go for a life coach but the charges is sky high. Please help.

Hey there, sorry to hear you’re in a funk about your career. I think many of us have been there at one point or another, and I want to encourage you that it will pass! It sounds like you’re very capable, and once you discover what it is you really love to do, it’ll get better. You mentioned wanting to talk to a counselor, so you might want to try the family group (Focus) who does not charge for the counseling – it is 1/855-771-HELP(4357). We wish you all the best in your career endeavors and hope you’ll keep us posted.

Hi Drewbie1,

thanks a lot for your reply. I'm in Asia, but i will try to contact some free counselling centre here. Should I accept the job offer while I'm feeling really worried and scared just even think of telling the HR I'll accept it. But I'm not sure what i'm scared of and what i'm worried about.

"Asia" is so emcompassing!  India is "Asia", and so is Korea, and a myriad of countries in between.  If I were you, I should worry more about having a job hopping record and not how HR is going to fill the vacancy you leave behind.  In SOME Asia cultures, loyalty and stable employment is very important.  Also, do you have any hobbies?  Maybe having something interesting to do will help aleviate your boredom.
