Wow! I wish I had that problem! There are so many fun (and not so fun) things to do. I wish I had more time.
What do you WANT to do? Do you have any hobbies? Places you want to travel to? Organizations you want to volunteer? A second career in something you enjoy doing?
I have an honorary grandmother that helps us out w/our family. We pay her - but it's a lot less than the going rate (MIL even charged us more!). But we also invite her for special occasion family dinners and things. Tonight she handed out candy while we took the kids out :)
Of course, I'm not suggesting you do that. This women is my mother's friend and tagged along to the park one day w/my mother & my kids. She fell in love with them! Which is ironic bc she wasn't an interested/involved parent....so she asked my mother a couple of times about whether we need help.
It's been fantastic.
So my suggestion to you is that you just find something that "clicks" and follow that. You never know what you might like or want to do with your time until you try. Now you have the time to try everything and anything!! :)
Welcome to the board boyd0222 and CONGRATS on your retirement. You have to have some hobbies that you enjoy. Find other retirees that meet to do things together. I am sure there are many groups in your area that you can check into. Volunteer for an organization that is close to your heart and you would enjoy. Spend time with assisted living or nursing home patients that have no family visiting. Make sure it is something you enjoy and not like another job if this is what you want. You get to do ANYTHING.....just enjoy life.
If you decide to continue to earn an income and want to know some options, contact me and I can show you what I do, I help enhance the lives of people by helping them reach their goals.
If you have ever had a desire to run your own eCommerce business, retirement is a great time to do so.
Research possible products, or any hobbies or interests you have are always better too.
We help many retirees create and run successful online businesses, which allows them continual income and the possibilities are endless.
Congrats and enjoy :)
