Just thought I'd try and get some conversation going over here :)  What does everyone do for work?

I run a home daycare.

I've been working as a home based, but traveling, clinical research associate. This means I go to sites where patients who are in clinical trials are treated and study procedures done and data collected. I work with sponsors, or pharmacuetical companies, who hire people like me to make sure that their clinical research trials are running correctly, and I also review sites' work, including that of doctors, for compliance with regulations that address research and the wellbeing of study patients as well as the integrity of data.

How many kids do you watch on a daily basis? What led you to your job?

I own and operate a custom website design and marketing business from my home. We build professional and appealing sites that deal with all business types, but primarily have been eCommerce based. We also offer social media development and maintenance to help increase traffic to sites.

It is rewarding, creative, and best of all I can do it from my home office after dropping my kids off at school :)

Katherine, That sounds like a great position! I'm sure it has ups and downs, like any other, but I can relate with being happy to work at home. Liz

Dee,

Would you ever be able to maybe work from home for one day a week or some other similar schedule? Could you do your job from your home?

Have you ever thought of negotiating that?

After an injury at work a month ago left me with an amputated toe and no job, I decided to take a chance on my dream and operate an online fashion accessories website.  It's connected through my Square credit card reader on the Square Market.  I was a buyer for the store so I have access to vendors and the markets...it's my mothership. :)  I'm happy, even though it's a struggle to get it off the ground.  I have also started a blog to write...I remember writing when I was little and I loved it!
