Buzz words that annoy

I ran across an interesting article today -- interesting to me, I think, because I thought I was probably the only person who is annoyed by certain "buzz words". Nice to know I'm not alone! One of my biggest pet peeves is mentioned; the phrase "Going forward"... I'm a fan of plain talk, simple words, so "In the future" or even "From now on" works just fine for me! Check out the article and see what you think...

10 Things You Should Never Say at the Office

While I don't work in a traditional office, I think this should still apply in a virtual office setting! LOL

What buzz words grate on your last nerve?

Whenever I mention these catch phrases being annoying I get accused of being easily annoyed.  Glad I'm not the only one lol.  I'd say these ones really drive me nuts:

Reach out. Deliver the bad news. Example: "Reach out to the customers with a letter announcing that their interest rate just doubled."

Viral. So prevalent that you want to barf when you hear about it. Example: "Twitter has gone viral."

Game changer. A catalyst that will transform a frog into a prince or vice-versa. Example: "Getting indicted for fraud was a game changer for Bernie Madoff."

Disconnect. A situation in which you wanted jelly, but someone gave you peanut butter. Example: "There is a disconnect between what the consumer wants and what we intend to provide."

Cutting edge. So modern, it's to die for. Example: "Sleeperama's cutting-edge mattress will take the country by storm."

Other really irritating ones?

OMG I just started hearing yolo everywhere!!!!! To think I went my whole life not hearing it and now I can't stop hearing it. I'm so annoyed that our society is becoming so lazy that we're actually speaking in stupid acronyms.  For typing or texting I get it, but it's not ok for speaking.

Wondering if I can use all those annoying phrases in one paragraph! hehehe

It is what it is... Remember, YOLO, so you might as well grab hold of that game changer attitude and go cutting edge! It's a real disconnect when you have to circle back because you missed a value-add that may have given you the leverage you could have used to really reach out, socialize and go viral!

Ok, I think my head just exploded! Surprised
