New Etsy shop, need advice...

I finally decided on something I could do from home that
1) Didn't sound like some sort of scam
2) Didn't require a lot of upfront money
3) Something I actually enjoy doing!
4) Gives me a lot of time to still spend with my son.

I decided to open up an etsy shop selling some of my photo prints. I was someone could take a look at it and offer any suggestions and maybe some ways to get my name out there so that I can get that first sale! Also, any other ideas anyone might have. Thanks a lot!

my shop is www.anliena.etsy.com or you can just click the tag at the end of my siggy. Thanks again.

My first suggestion is to partner with a blog and offer a print as a prize for a contest on a popular blog. Mandatory entry, they must visit your blog and pick out their favorite.

I've personally discovered many Etsy shops this way :)

Hello and welcome to the board! Glad that you're here and found us. So, how is business going? Have you had any difficulties with the economy or have you really not noticed any changes?

I just started my shop not to long ago and I haven't had any sales yet. I'm not sure if its because I'm not marketing it enough or because sales are slow over the summer, or if its the economy. I may just take a break and try again later.

Don't take a break. You've already begun, keep going. If you stop and then start again, you'll be starting all over. Keep going :)

I agree with Audrey. Keep at it. I know it can be challenging to start something new but when I feel like I am having a rough patch or time, I will re-evaluate my goals and how I am trying to reach them. I also will take a look at what I am doing to advertise and market my business.

So keep at it. We're here for you :)
