I am looking for ways I can encourage my adult son who has a special needs child. I have encouraged him to talk to his physician, pastor, counselor or psychiatrist. It is affecting his family. He is not open to my suggestions. What can I do?

It sounds like you are a really caring and concerned Mother and Grand-Mother...

I would just let him know you care and are there but possibly he needs/wants you to let him handle it on his own...kwim?

How old is your your Grand-child?

I was just wondering why you think your son may need/want to talk to some-one?

How is it affecting his Family?

Who exactly?

What suggestions are you offering?

As for being open to them, is it possible he does not agree with them or is offended by them?

I am not really sure without knowing a little bit more what you can do...

He is an adult and quite possibly needs/wants to know he has your love and support and nothing more...
