If you are seperated & you are living in the apt & YOU will be responsible for the rent, why the heck are you LEAVING the money in the joint account for him to drink away. You & yoru children just left a shelter. OBVIOUSLY he deosnt "get it". My advice in tomorrow, 1st thing, get that money OUT ... put it in a bank in YOUR NAME ONLY & pay all the household bills with it. Keep receipts to prove thats what you were doing with the money. The most important thing besides your safety, is a roof over you & the kids heads - obviously HE could care less.

What a JERK!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sam,

Get the RO and follow it. I got one in 99 and didn't. It was good for 3 years. It was filled along with starting my divorce after 20 years. I had the support need, but didn't take it, from my support group (ADV, Alternatives to Domestic Abuse) and my lawyer. Here was the biggest mistake I made. He drove me home after court and things went from bad to worse. I lived with that RO for 3 years and him. I couldn't get him out, I was terrified. He would loose his guns needed for his job, police work. Then when RO was coming due, nothing had changed, bad to worse, so I re-instated RO for another year. It is hard to believe in PD when you have been married to a cop. I misused the RO, I wish I hadn't. I would be much better off if I had. NO CONTACT whatsoever is the only way to go. Be save and take care.

Luv, Sherry
