Do women who stay with abusers become co-dependent or is because they had co-dependency tendencies that they hooked up with 'narcissictic' men..

I can honestly say I fit maybe 50% or so of the characteristics.

anyone shed any light on this? wondering if something in my upbringing..though can't think of any...loving parents and family..yes..maybe they did too much if that is considered a factor why I do so much..or stuck around..

Not sure. I am confused.

For me I don't think staying was co-dependence. For the most part it was fear of what would happen if i left. i only finally did leave when I knew the consequences of leaving, even if that meant death, were better than what I was in for if i stayed. But I think everyone has their own reasons.
