Hi all,

Well court was easy today, not real sure why I had to be there. The judge stated the charges against my x, asked for x plea, he said not guilty, and the judge set trial date for July 20. That was it. By the way there was no way I was going to see x today. Advocate from the shelter, Chris, Dr. B, my boss, and my att made sure of it. Everything went so fast, Im not really sure what happened. Im glad we have time to make a case, but am worried that he might actually get out before the trial. I guess we will deal with that when the time comes. Chris took it upon herself to call Dr. B.(my counselor)to let her know that I was back. She chose to come to court today on her own, and I am really glad she was there. I have an appointment with her Thursday. Thanks ladies for being my support group. All have been a huge help.

Whew! (wiping my brow) I am so glad to hear that it went so well today, Van. I know that it took a lot of courage to go there today, and you did it!!! Be very proud of yourself!

It also sounds like you have a great supportive team with you. You aren't alone anymore, honey.

Hugs!

Christine

So they didn't "hold him over for trial"?

thanks for you words of incouragement Christine and Blue

I did what you suggested blue and called my oldest brother (hes the one in CA). We talked for awhile. He was very upset. About 30 minutes later he calles me back and told me that if i get word that x is going to get out to call him. He said that my loving brothers will be here to protect me. His actually words were that they were going to be my personal bodyguards. He also said that he hopes x does get out early, and if or when he tries to get to me, he will kick his a$$. I really was afraid to tell my brothers, I was afraid that they would respond the same way that my mom did when I went to her for help when I was still married. Lets just say it wasnt good. I have read the post from the 2 mothers resently and wished my mom had been like they are. Anyway i am starting to feel like things are going in the right direction, and I owe alot of it to all the ladies here on these boards. Yalls advice has help me tremendously.

Thanks

Van

Van,

I've been reading and staying up with your posts although I don't get a lot of time to respond.

You are an inspiration. You are overcoming a HUGE obsticle - an abusive spouse. Be VERY proud of yourself.

Keep us posted, we care about you.

And - I am SO glad to hear that your brothers have been supportive of you. The role of any parent should be to support their children. I can't imagine not being supportive of any of my children. I'm happy that your brothers have made it overwhelmingly obvious that they support YOU!!!
