I am trying to figure out a charge on my itemized bill. I tried to google RI divorce terms ... & "DR 6" isnt showing up. I want to make sure I am not being charged for them refiling for a RO when it was my atty who inadvedently screwed up & had me sign paperwork that dropped the RO, when it wasnt supposed to be dropped. I am looking back at that week & i am being charged almost $1,000 for calls, correspondence & fililng, all for a NEW RO, which i already HAD gotten, on my own - b4 he screwed it up!

Just Googled it, here's what I found:

DR 6-102 Limiting Liability to Client

  1. A lawyer shall not attempt in advance to exonerate himself from or limit his liability to his client for his malpractice.
