I just found out my ex husband is back in jail. I went and looked at his sexual offender profile to make sure he was still at his mothers because next week I was going to go to the court house to attemept to get them to go after him over the child support but it showed his addres as jail. I knew he had a short stay in jail back in Febuary but this time for now he is there till Jan but I bet that get moved up because for some reason he can behave in there but at leat he is locked up again!! The site about jail isnt teling me why he is in this time but at leat he is locked up again!!

Nifty! Glad he's locked up. Good luck on child support, I've been having a royal nightmare trying to get a dime lately.

There are days I want to give up on the child support because I doubt I will ever see any but he should not get out of paying. He pretty much gets away with everything. Yes he is in jail but not for long enough for the things he did.

I've thought lately about just going ahead and filing for abandonment and letting my ex-husb out of his responsibility to pay child support, but I just can't do it. I want him to have to realize that he is a responsible party and his past will catch up with him. I guess I'm feeling a little righteous and vengeful. I spoke with the Attny General's Office here who finally called his employer to say, "yes, [the ex] is lying, he really does have to pay. So start taking it out of his check, damnit." We'll see if it'll actually work... because we could really use the cash. I know once you see the money, it will feel that it's worth it, but trust me - I know it's such a pain. Sometimes if a father is in jail I know that you can apply for (in Texas it's called TANF, I think) benefits where the state pays the child support on his behalf, then collects it from him.
