His Deposition - Getting around the 5th

He was asked if he was planning to invoke the 5th during the initial trial (that was postponed) by the judge and again during the deposition with my lawyer. He said no. I figured out why...he just decided to commit perjury instead.

He lied...Why am I so surprised? I knew he wouldn't admit to the molestation (really hoped he would, but knew he wouldn't). But he lied about more unimportant things...he never hit my mom she just fell down (she had a bruise on her face and she fell backwards not forward), he's never taken drugs, then it was he hasn't taken drugs since high school and then it was only weed (he had a drug dealer as a friend during college, and he admitted to me in May 2005 to taking meth and cocaine), he never helped wipe our daughter during her potty training, he just handed her the tp (how does a 2 year old know how to wipe themselves?, not to mention he insisted that she be wiped with a baby wipe each time her diaper was changed), he never put ointment on her private area even though I sent it along during one of his visits (he told me when the accusation came out that he put the ointment on her and that was probably the reason she is confused), he's never owned pornography (I spent years finding his magazines and movies), he never told the police that there was someone there who wasn't (the police called me that night to tell me that he pointed out, and spoke to, 'people' sitting on a couch that the police officers couldn't see). That's not all he lied about, but the things that stuck in my head.

How can someone lie so much? And not only lie so much, but lie about unimportant things then think that someone is going to believe that he *didn't* do something. How do I get him to tell the truth? And will the judge see through it?

If he's changing his story like that, yes, the judge will most likely see through it.
