I was numb most of the day yesterday, then became super anxious just before the appointment.

ok..just 2 quick words..in some states, recording without the other parties knowledge is against the law. Secondly, why do you think it will get to trial and all that. Is there a lot to divide between the two of you. If you think you will be in danger when he gets served, stay in a temporary shelter, your parents or a hotel or your new home if you have one. He gets ugly, file for RO with quick temporary custody/support in place.

Be careful to have a fine line between getting to adversarial vs doing normal way..some attorneys tend to get that way..

My understanding is in my state only one party must know they're being recorded for it to be admissable in court.

It may not go to trial.

just going by my experience, he is going to demand to see the child..and until any orders are written out (which can take weeks to get a court date) he has as much right to the child as you

He has never directly threatened or harmed our son, so I do not plan to attempt to limit visitation.
