Contact a shelter, get their assistance and protect you and Katy with a RO or OP, so that he cannot just wander in and out at will when he finds your place, or make a problem just to get his revenge. Also, let the shelter help find an abuse lawyer who both you and Katy could talk to, also to protect you both. Through a Domestic Violence counselor or lawyer, let Katy tell her wishes to them, let her say that she doesn't wish to see him and that she doesn't want to be forced to see him either. Get this on record before he tries for visitation so that it is on paper before court,,,not after it. Let both yourself and Katy be heard on this.
If you need to pick up other things at the house, you can ask your police for an escort to retrieve them. This way if he acts up in any way, not only are you protected, but then there will be witnesses to his abuse. It's a smart way to cover your butt.
Enjoy this new life liverbabe, but don't think for a second he's not working on someway to cause you misery. They don't give up that easily,,this is why I stress getting as much of what is going on documented, and let the shelters help you find qualified counselors and lawyers to keep you safe.
Hugs
Peace and hugs,
Cheryl =)
