If some one posts something here, and they post that they have done something really dangerous, I don't think it helps the person in the long run not to say something to them.In my opinion, there is a way to say that some one has done something dangerous without attacking the person. Sometimes when I have an issue that is really confusing me, I would rather post it on a debate board, because there it seems like the feedback is more real and more honest, even if it is a bit rougher, it forces me to really think things out. Sometimes I feel the support boards are too syrupy and too limiting-and I think that actually does a disservice to certain people. Although they can be very informative, like the boards that deal with specific health issues have a lot of great info.

Most of the time, people just want someone to listen to them.

Yeah, I could leave, but I just feel like an certain opportunities to help and discuss and gain new perspectives are lost. It's more about that than about my needs.

Again, not looking for debate. I just think opportunities to help people and discuss and gain new perspectives are lost. We can do all that without debate.

That is what I do, change channels. Lots of times on this board,I just stop reading the posts for various reasons. It just occured to me that many opportunities are lost, not for me but generally speaking. It could be better is all I'm saying.

While you might believe that things can be done differently here and that we should be in everyone's faces and telling them to get the *bleep* out ASAP, I find that it has worked better to tailor my responses to each poster and their particular situation, taking all information into account.

I had three posters directed to this board by another CL, who did so with good intentions.

You assume I believe that we should be in everyone's face screaming to leave their relationsip. I don't. I don't think it is helpful nor productive. That is not what I meant at all. There is room for both styles of posting on this board, but the style I am advocating isn't in your face leave your relationship. Just because something helped you doesn't mean there isn't room for other styles. It isn't a putdown of the job you are doing, you are doing a good job. There is more than one way to help people though.
