One hour left til divorce

Okay, I have an hour left before I leave to go to my divorce hearing at 2:30 and my stomach is in knots. Saturday night I had a fabulous time with friends with not a care in the world. Basically, I was celebrating early. Now my stomach is in knots. I know...it's a finality. I'm sure this is normal. You don't live with somebody after 25 years and not care. I'm happy on my own. I guess it's just guilt after upsetting the happy little homelife. I'm nervous; I'm shaking. I don't know what to expect. I'm scared too, I guess.

Thanks to all of you for your support.

Well, I'm back and there's not much of a full report other than his typical self told the judge he has our DD over 50% of the time (when she asked). Needlesstosay, it didn't matter because we were in joint agreement of the child support. We're not going through the court system. I think that's what he was worried about. The liar! I've got a calendar of how often she's with me. It's basically 65 - 50. If that's what he thinks in his pea-brain mind, then fine. It didn't get him anywhere. She said there is no custodial parent because our parental agreement was agreed on. Well, I thought about that incident on my drive home and just got a little bit angry about the whole thing. I would have said it was a 50-50 deal, but I'm always nice, TOO nice.

Anyway, he didn't speak to me the whole time and then when he gets in front of the judge he makes himself look like he's Mr. Friendly. He even told the judge "we're friends". i wanted to say "you didn't even friggin talk to me in the waiting room and you call that friends!" Typical abuser, they make themselves look good to other people.

So I feel better now since he pi**ed me off. I just want to get on with my life, and I need to remember how happy I am and take one day at a time.

Thank you for caring,
Happy

Happy, you probably like Valentine's Day as much as me. I left last year after 25 years of being married (I now call it prisoner of war) on Valentine's Day Week-end. It took me three days to pack and move to another state while he was at work for those three days. This is my one year anniversary and without the wonderful people here and at New Beginnings I wouldn't be here today. You should have seen me the last few days. Just know if you need me for anything just e-mail. I have an idea what 25 years is all about.......Luv, Sherry

Sherry:

Thanks for posting and letting me know that you're another one out there with 25 years under their belt (in a cell like you said). I agree with you too. If it wasn't for the wonderful people on this board, I wouldn't be here today either. I have met so many understanding and knowledgeable people.

After about two hours of guilt yesterday after the hearing, I came home to a number of messages from my friends and felt great. I spent the entire evening on the telephone talking to my friends. It was great! I'm sure I'll rejoice next year knowing how free I am.

Thanks for lending your email. It's nice to talk (write) to people that have BTDT. I look forward to it. Hope you don't mind!

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY A DAY LATE!!
