rich, First of all girl-- catch your breath and try to relax.Sounds like he's pushing your buttons. Secondly, If "IT" ain't in writing, he's just blowing smoke! You need a battered womans' advocate. Call your Legal Aid dept tomorrow and get a fast appointment. Thirdly, If he can't produce bills of sale for items he wants to claim are his, he's out of luck! I wish you had my attorney; she loves putting abusive men in their place! Also, his attorney sounds way off base. You may want to talk to someone about this man using scare tactics in an already unstable situation. And lastly, please stop taking his calls-- he's only adding to the problem. Please get some legal advice and then you can put your mind to ease. I hope this helped put things in prospective for you. Keep us posted. God help and guide you. Hang in there. Deb

Is his attorney Polish with a kind of scroungy look about her...because I am thinking she is the same person representing AHL. Oh, come to think of it, do you think AHL and stbx are twins by chance? AHL also provided a list of things he wanted half of. For JUST the household items, it came to a whopping 120k. This is very amusing since he left me with a household of furniture we bought when I was still in college (over 10 years old) and most was ruined or damaged beyond the possibility for sale. But no money to buy new things (at least he made me think that). My estimated pricing of the items, which I tried really hard to be completely fair, came to 11k. Big difference. So what I am saying is that sounds like he is trying to skim you for all you got and more, similar to what AHL tried. You were his gravy train and now with that gone, he's eyeing you like a 6 month starved dog eyes a steak. If it comes to your word against his for non-existant property, I would think the burden of proof falls on his shoulders. At least that is what my lawyer told me, and she said to disregard whatever smoke he was blowing. Best to call your attorney and ask how you are going to counter it. But if there isn't a receipt or some evidence that the object existed, what can he do? And it sounds like he has credibility issues with the court anyhow. Good luck and try to get some answers from your attorney, just to let the stress of the mess off your mind at least.
