Hi everyone - I was just wondering, do any of you feel that the stress of your situation has caused you health-related problems? Just recently I went to the dr. because of a bad pain in my neck (no joke here, even though it sounds like one!) and she said it was a muscle spasm. She put me on a couple of meds and recommended a couple of massages, which I have yet to get of course. When I'm tense it obviously feels worse so I've been trying hard to relax - it just seems impossible. So this was over a week ago and it was just starting to get a little better when yesterday, H and I got into it over something ridiculous and I swear within moments of starting that argument I felt the same exact pain on the opposite side of my neck! By the end of the argument I could barely turn my head to the right. I'm still in pain.
I think this is my body's way of telling me to wake up and smell the coffee and that this relationship is really having a damaging effect on my physically as well as mentally.
Has anything of the sort happened to anyone else?

I do have health problems that I *know* are directly related to the stress of being married to a jerk (lol) I have panic/anxiety attacks which are awful. This one bothers me the most.. and I know it's not going to get any better until I am miles away from him for good.
Another problem I have is TMJ disorder where I clench my jaws without even realizing it when I'm stressed.(which is 90% of the time) For those of you who don't know, TMJ stands for TemporoMandibular Joint.I cannot open my mouth without being in terrible pain, and my jaws lock and pop. It's awful.
The stress that comes from these relationships *definately* affects us physically as well as mentally. The whole thing just sucks.. sorry for your pain Lisa, I understand :(
