Hi! I've been gone for a while, but now I'm back! :o)

I see some familiar "faces," and some that are not so familiar. But, I'm sure there are some of you here who remember me. I was here pretty often about a year and a half ago, while I was going through a pretty ugly divorce from my abusive XH.

Well, as some of you may recall from the last time I visited, I am now engaged to the best man in the entire world! :o) We're getting married six weeks from today, and I can't wait!!!

As you may remember, we bought a house together shortly after my divorce was final. Well, it's a pretty old house and we've been working on fixing it up. Last night, we were working on the house, so neither of us really had time to cook dinner. So, we decided to order in from our local Pizza Hut. I called to place the order and, lo and behold, who should answer the phone at Pizza Hut but my XH!!! (Gabby, I know it's not Hooters, but it's still pretty funny if you ask me!!! ;oD)

Evidently, from what I've heard through the grapevine (we live in a *very* small town), XH was fired a few months ago from his rather lucrative job as the assistant manager of a grocery store. Evidently, they were planning to promote him and move him to a different store within the company. He was supposed to be training his replacement. Well, he and his replacement (a woman!) didn't get along, and he basically reamed her out in front of the *entire* store! From what I've heard, he said (*very* loudly!) something along the lines of "B****, go f*** yourself!" Ohhhh, noooo, he doesn't have an anger management problem at all! ;oD

So, the next morning, his corporate office called him (at like 6:00 a.m.!) and said, "I'm sorry, but you're no longer employed with our company!" Then, evidently, he was unemployed for quite some time. (This doesn't surprise me at all -- *right* after we got married, he was laid off from his job, and didn't feel the need to get another one for the next THREE MONTHS!!!) So, I guess he finally started worrying that he was going to lose the house and/or his truck, so he started looking for a job, and Pizza Hut was the best he could do!!! (Not to knock anyone who works at Pizza Hut, but he was making about $40,000.00 per year as an assistant manager for a grocery store, so this is *quite* a step backwards for him!)

All of this information I have gotten (whether I want it or not!) from a mutual friend of ours. So, XH drove by our house one night earlier this week (might have been Monday?) and DF said it looked like he had a Pizza Hut uniform on, but he wasn't sure. I forgot all about it, until we called Pizza Hut last night and he answered the phone! The conversation went something like this:

Him: "Thank you for calling Pizza Hut! Will this be carry-out or delivery?"
Me: "Delivery, please."
Him: "And what's your phone number?"
Me: "It's xxx-xxxx."
Him: "LastName on _______ Street?" (He said this in a pissed-off voice! By this time, I could tell for *sure* that it was him.)
Me: "Yep."
Him: "Tell Caesar I said hi." (Caesar is my dog, who I got while we were still together, and managed to get away from the XH in our divorce settlement, thank God.)
Me: "Oh. Hi."
Him: "So, what can I get for you this evening?"
Me: "A 12 inch ham and cheese sub, and does that come with chips?" (DF wanted this. I can't stand ham!!! I was going to order something else for my self, but interestingly, I suddenly lost my appetite! LOL!)
Him: "Yes, that does come with chips. So, how has Caesar been?"
Me: "Good."
Him: "I think about him alot. I want him to meet his sister." (Referring to his dog that he got after I left, God help her, the poor thing!)
Me: "Oh."
Him: "Well, your total will be $_______, and it should be there in about 15 minutes."
Me: "OK. Thanks."

OHHH, the vindication!!! ;oD

Needless to say, DF didn't eat his sub, since God only knows what dipsh!t did to it! But, we weren't about to give him the satisfaction of calling back to cancel the order, either! That's OK, though. At least now we know never to order from Pizza Hut again!!! :o)

The ironic thing about all this is, XH was working at Pizza Hut when we first got together. (We were like 19 at the time.) With my help, he managed to get his GED, get his driver's license, get a car, and get a better job (in fact, a career). He actually thanked me for all of that when he came to sign the divorce papers! Let me tell you, it really felt good to *finally* hear that from him! But now, he's back to working a dead-end job at Pizza Hut. Isn't it amazing how what goes around really *does* come around?!?! Karma, folks, karma!!! :o)

Just thought I'd give you ladies your public service announcement for the day! :oD

Emm

Morgantlsmom: YOU WILL!!! Stay strong, and keep your chin up. If I can do it, ANYONE can do it! To quote a *very* wise woman, let me just say, "All my best to you!" (Thank you, Mindspeak!)

Gabby: YES, Pizza Hut!!! Let me tell ya girl, when I dialed that number and heard his voice saying "Thank you for calling Pizza Hut, will this be carry-out or delivery?" . . . let's just say I had a moment!!! It was all I could do -- and I do mean ALL I could do! -- to keep from just busting out laughing!!! BWAAAAAHAAAAHAAAHAAA!!! :oD
