Your BF sounds EXACTLY like my H. You are doing the absolute right thing. Run, Run..before it gets too late. You deserve so much better. He is NOT going to change, I know you wish he could. But it is not going to happen. Do not worry about him. What he chooses to do after you leave, is HIS problem. Go for it and Do not look back. Please take counseling to heal yourself. Also read the books 'why does he do that..lundy b', verbal abuse (patricia evans). Just remember you are doing the right thing. Do not second guess at this point. Good luck.

Thank you for your words. I'm definitely taking the apartment. I go back and forth between being at peace and sad, crying non stop. I can't eat or sleep. Right now, I feel good ( a few drinks helped). I know when I get home, it will go back to mr feeling bad, crying. I booked the movers but decided to wait until after the weekend to tell him. I know I want and need this, I'm just having a hard time letting go.....

Why are you worried about him?

I suggest that you not say anything about the movers--just let them come.

Yes, this was very much a verbally and emotionally abusive relationship.

Sienna, thanks ! We know it all but having you spell it out does help with the re-affirmation process. Recently I invested in a Kindle and I got few of those books. Now I go to the gym and read it (and this way noone really knows what I am reading). I was reading the lundy B book again..and it was so so fitting..I am like..what am I doing going home to this person every day.

thanks.

A Kindle would have been great! I ended up keeping a notebook and took extensive notes of the lists, etc in those books. It is so handy to refer back to the book (or notes) often to keep you focused.

Good for you for going to the gym!
